Join the
Sukūn Community Team

Sukūn is growing beyond coffee.

Alongside our café experiences, we create community gatherings, workshops, social projects, youth programming, and spaces that help people connect, create, and feel a little more at home with one another.

The work becomes stronger when it is shaped with others, so we’re building a small volunteer team for people who want to contribute, learn, and help bring thoughtful ideas to life.

Who this is for

Do you want to contribute?
Is there something you want to learn?

You might be a student looking for volunteer hours, a creative wanting hands-on experience, someone building a portfolio, or simply a person who cares about community and wants to contribute.

You don’t need an impressive résumé or years of experience. We’re looking for people who are kind, curious, dependable, collaborative, and excited to learn by doing.

What you can get involved in

Different ways to help
bring ideas to life.

Depending on the project, volunteer opportunities may include:

Events and community programming Photography and videography Social media and content creation Marketing and communications Graphic design and creative direction Project planning and coordination Community outreach and partnerships Writing and storytelling Youth programming Hospitality and guest experience

You can explore more than one area. Part of the goal is to give people space to discover what they enjoy and build new skills.

How the team works

Project-based,
not a weekly shift.

Sukūn’s Community Team is project-based rather than a weekly volunteer shift. When new projects and events come up, opportunities are shared with the team and members can participate based on their interests, skills, and availability.

Depending on your involvement, you may have opportunities to build hands-on experience, contribute work to your portfolio, learn new skills, meet other creatives and community-builders, receive eligible student volunteer hours, receive a reference after meaningful involvement, and be considered for future paid Sukūn opportunities when available.

Paid opportunities are separate from the volunteer team and are never guaranteed.

What we’re working on right now

Open Book Club

One of the first projects this team will help bring to life is Open Book Club — a Sukūn community project built around storytelling, conversation, creativity, and helping people feel a little more connected.

We’ll be looking for help with things like planning, setup, content, photography, outreach, welcoming guests, and all the little pieces that turn an idea into an actual gathering.
